Saxophone Specialist
Craig is a dedicated professional saxophone teacher and an established music educator with a passion for Classical Saxophone.
Holding a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours) in Saxophone, Instrumental music Education degree (FET), and holds a Performance and Pedagogy Master’s degree in Saxophone.
Craig has built an exceptional career as both a performer and educator.
Notably, he was the first classical saxophonist to reach the finals of the prestigious Joyce Campbell Lloyd Scholarship.
In 2002, Craig was honored with the Australian College of Educators Outstanding Educator Award for his innovative contributions to Jazz Education.
He founded and led the Youth Jazz ensemble, JazzEd Big Band, for 10 years, producing two CDs with Australian jazz legends Don Burrows and Kevin Hunt. Craig’s ensemble also performed alongside renowned artists including James Morrison, Richie Cole, Sharny Russell, and George Golla.
As a versatile performer, Craig has extensive experience across multiple genres—from musicals to big bands—and has inspired composers to dedicate works to him, including saxophone and string quartet pieces and the recent "Beet Root" for saxophone quartet by Australian composer Dr. Brad Millard.
Since relocating to Hong Kong 20 years ago, Craig has served as band director in International schools and earned National Board Certification as a music educator.
He has been a sought-after guest clinician across Australia, Hong Kong, and China, and regularly adjudicates at Eisteddfods and Festivals, including the prestigious Hong Kong International Wind Instruments Competition.
Craig offers private saxophone lessons for all levels, from beginner to advanced.
