Michelle Lovett moved to Hong Kong in 2004, and worked in as a Music Educator in International Schools, Post-Secondary Vocational education and as a consultant in Creative Industries Education. In Australia she lectured in Arts Education at the University of Southern Queensland, and was active in promoting arts education amongst young people, and in Instrumental Music Pedagogy and Arts Curriculum visioning. As a manager, Michelle organised entertainment for Australia's longest running carnival for several years. and planned, managed and acquitted state, federal government grants and facilitated corporate sponsorships for education projects.

Colin Aitchison – Brass Instruments and Jazz – Colin has been a professional performer and teacher in Hong Kong for over 20 years. He was the musical director at Ocean Park for 15 years and is Musical Director and band leader at Hong Kong’s longest-running Jazz Bar Ned Kelly’s Last Stand. Specializing in Trumpet, Trombone and Tuba,  Colin has taught for the ESF and the Hong Kong International School.

 

Craig Lovett worked at HKIS as Middle school and Upper Primary Band Teacher for 12 years before launching MICRA Music.  MICRA encompasses Craig’s specific music passions – teaching music and music instrument repair, and to explore his Saxophone performance, music arranging and other musical pursuits.

Before moving to Hong Kong, Craig was a part time Lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland and Instrumental Instructor with Education Queensland.  As founder and Musical Director of the JazzEd Big Band, he led young musicians to perform and tour with Australian and International Jazz Artists, notably touring and recording two discs with acclaimed jazz musicians, Don Burrows and Kevin Hunt.  In 2000 his dedication to the JazzEd Big Band led to an Australian College of Educators Kath Dickson Award for his contribution to music education in the Darling Downs region in Queensland.

With several degrees in music and education, Craig is also a National Board Certified Teacher (USA).  Recently, Craig has been studying through the Colorado Institute Of Musical Instrument Technology, and has undertaken self-study on Chinese instruments and strummed instruments.  An advocate of Contemporary Wind music, he has commissioned several compositions, and is a regular member on Tenor Saxophone in a HK Jazz Big Band. 

Craig’s move to the adjunct Upper Primary Band Program through the HKIS ASA program will allow him to take up offers as Music Adjudicator and Band Clinician, refine his instrument repair skills and focus on leading the acclaimed HKIS UP Band Program.
