Maker Band combines hands-on band instrument learning with fascinating STEM activities.
Designed exclusively for 7 to 8-year-olds, our limited-size classes offer a vibrant third space where inquisitive children play, discover, and experience the joy of making music together.

Choose Your Musical Adventure
Two course options, two ways to explore. Each pairs a brass instrument with a matching partner woodwind instrument, so children play, discover, and experience two very different sounds across the term.
🎵 Pipes and Slides
Flute & Trombone
Young explorers glide between the airy pipe of the flute and the smooth slide of the trombone. From delicate high notes to bold low tones, children discover how breath and movement shape music, building coordination and confidence along the way.
Key highlights:
Explore the flute to develop breath control and a light, precise touch.
Play the trombone to build arm coordination and a feel for pitch through the slide.
Investigate the science of air and sound through hands-on STEM activities.
Make friends and play together in a supportive small-group ensemble.

🎺 Buzz and Reeds
Trumpet & Saxophone
Young explorers feel the lively "buzz" of the trumpet and the warm hum of the saxophone reed. These two crowd-favorites help children discover how vibration creates music, growing their confidence with every note they play.
Key highlights:
Buzz the trumpet to build lip strength and a bright, confident sound.
Play the saxophone to discover how reeds turn breath into rich, warm tones.
Experiment with vibration and pitch through fun, guided science investigations.
Grow teamwork skills by playing music together as a small ensemble.

About the Maker Band
Maker Band invites inquisitive children (6+) to become explorers in a hands-on musical world. Playing brass and woodwind instruments is only the beginning. Between playing, young musicians dive into fun STEM investigations that reveal how sound works, how instruments make music, and why acoustics matter.

Located just a 5-minute walk from the MTR, with instruction in English, the Maker Band suits inquisitive young people and fits busy Hong Kong families beautifully.
We welcome musicians of all backgrounds and school affiliations! We offer tailored programs for students aged 7 and above, as well as dedicated adult classes.
To best support learning and musical growth, our classes are divided into Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced groupings. For your convenience, students can also loan instruments for home practice or secure exclusive use of an instrument during ensemble classes.
