Caprice Strings invites talented violin, viola, cello, and double bass players to play, discover, and grow together in a structured ensemble built for musically curious children ready for their next challenge.

A Program Designed for the Next Step

Your child has put in the hours. They've grown comfortable with their instrument, and now they're ready for something more.

Caprice Strings gives advanced young string players a place to stretch their skills, make music alongside like-minded friends, and experience the joy of playing as one. Through carefully planned, year-long curriculum, students refine their technique, deepen their musical understanding, and build the ensemble skills that prepare them for orchestral playing.

This is more than a music class. It's a community where talented children belong, grow, and shine.

Who It's For

Caprice Strings welcomes advanced string players aged 7 and up who are ready to take their playing to the next level. Students typically join us if they:

  • Have graduated from an intermediate string class and are looking for a new challenge.

  • Study privately with a tutor and want the experience of playing in an ensemble.

  • Have played a string instrument for more than two years and show advanced technique.

Not sure if your child is ready? Reach out to us, and we'll help you find the right fit.

What Your Child Will Gain

Every session pairs hands-on music-making with real, lasting growth. Across the year, young players will:

  • Sharpen technique by developing the technical and aural skills that strong playing depends on.

  • Refine interpretation as students shape phrases, dynamics, and expression with greater confidence.

  • Strengthen ensemble playing to prepare for orchestral repertoire and string orchestral techniques.

  • Build synchronicity by learning to listen, watch, and play in harmony with others.

  • Develop leadership through leading gestures, teamwork, and cooperation within the group.

  • Make friends and grow social skills in a supportive, encouraging environment.

  • Deepen aesthetic awareness through music appreciation and live performance.

Music becomes a way for your child to express themselves, connect with others, and discover what they're capable of.

Their attention to detail and commitment to quality truly stood out. We’ve already recommended them to others.
